Brand Mission

Founded during the COVID pandemic in response to one of the locals in our community who had desperately reached out via social media for food to feed her family. Food and supplies were scarce and people were getting laid off from their jobs.

We gathered up any extra food and water we had and delivered it to this family in need. Many people suffer from food insecurity in our own community until that fateful day. According to the USDA, more than 38 million people, including 12 million children, in the United States are food insecure at any given time.

Feeding Communities

In founding MRKD, we want to ensure that our business model addresses this issue and empowers our retailers' communities by donating 10% of our net profits to help feed people in their hometowns. About The Makers Founded by husband and wife Matt and Lisa Lawenda who have used their creative and diverse backgrounds to embark on a journey to help empower others through socially responsible commerce. Today they live in Ojai, CA with their 3 children (Riley, Keegan and Dylan - MRKD) Nothing shapes one's life more than their family, we are proud to be MRKD for life.
